Create a Fund

The Susquehanna Foundation for the Blind offers you, your family, or your business the opportunity to create a legacy by opening a named fund in our endowment. You can open your fund with just $10,000 which can be paid in a lump sum or in installments as part of a multi-year commitment.

Our endowment is a permanent source of income for our scholarship and competitive grant programs. Your fund will advance the foundation’s mission now and into the future.

Existing Funds 

Operational Funds
Operational funds are essential to Susquehanna Foundation for the Blind and its affiliated agencies cover the expenses that are crucial to providing services to clients. From staff salaries to lights and paperclips, operational expenses are fundamental – without these things, organizations would not be able to thrive and fulfill their missions.

Scholarship Funds
Many donors wish to honor or memorialize a loved one by creating a scholarship fund. Donors selecting this option will be asked to assist in establishing selection criteria.


Unrestricted Funds
An unrestricted fund allows for maximum flexibility in addressing grant and scholarship requests. Our trustees are discriminating in their funding decisions and they will use this flexibility to respond to needs revealed through the grant application process.

Directed Funds
Through your personal and specific direction, you act as advisor to the Trustees as they make their funding decisions. Monies generated by your fund may not be used for any purpose other than that which you specify.

Family and Friends Funds
Friends and family members can pool their money to start and maintain a Directed Fund. Ask us for more information.
