Ways to Give
Just as there are many types of funds, there are many ways to give. Consult your financial advisor or ask us which way will be most beneficial for you. Since the Susquehanna Foundation for the Blind is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity, your gift will provide the maximum tax benefits allowed by law.
Appreciated Property
You receive very beneficial tax treatment through contributions of long-term capital gains on securities or real estate.
Life Insurance
By taking out a policy and designating the Susquehanna Foundation for the Blind as owner, you receive a tax deduction for the annual premiums, and the Foundation receives the policy benefits upon your death. Another option is to contribute a paid-up policy and receive a deduction for the cash value.
Charitable Trusts & Charitable Gift Annuities
These can help the Foundation advance its charitable mission while providing lifetime income for the donor.
Bequests
Many donors list the Foundation in their wills, perpetuating their philanthropy long past their lifetimes. The most generous of all gifts, the Foundation is honored to receive them.
All bequests and planned gifts qualify the donor for membership in the Pauline W. Abel Society.
Cash
A gift of cash is immediate, straightforward and simple. And you can take a full tax deduction in the year you contribute. Always welcome, cash gifts are fully tax deductible.
Whatever way you choose to make a gift to the Susquehanna Foundation for the Blind, you’ll be creating a legacy for the benefit of people who are blind for many years to come.
